Pastor Darrell Pederson
Advisory Board, Chair
Rev. Darrell Pederson is a retired ELCA pastor. Darrell grew up near the Fond Du Lac Reservation in Alborn, Minnesota. Some of his high school classmates were Native people. Many quit school at age 16. He always wondered why that was. By the time George Floyd was murdered, Darrell had served 40 years as an ELCA pastor and retired. A lifetime of witnessing people of color being treated as somehow less than European Americans led Darrell to say he couldn't sit on his hands anymore. Living in Baxter, Darrell is now involved in Lord of Life Lutheran Church's Micah Group and the Together Here Ministry. He believes that God is moving mightily to bring about meaningful and lasting change for justice and equity for all people. And, he wants to be a part of that.
