Service Description
Five of the six federally recognized bands which comprise the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe lie within the geographic area known by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as Northeastern Minnesota Synod. This area was ceded for settlement through the 1837, 1847, 1854, 1855, and 1866 treaties. The agreements made one our behalf by those who signed these treaties continue to guide our lives today. This workshop explores the treaty making process and how treaties impact all of us.
